I have never been shy about letting you know how much I admire the "Nuge". And recently Theodore has been taking a good bit of flack from the press for comments he made last month at an NRA convention in St. Louis among other things..like saying "God sent me to spotlight coackroaches", and "Nancy Pelosi is a varmit"! But THIS is why I like Ted. Fearless! I just hope one day he does decide to run for office, cuz he can count on MY vote!!
Yes, that time of year again, when we here at the old Radiator Station break out a spankin new Harley and try and give it away to one of our faithful listeners! But the coolest thing for ME is getting "back out on the street" and hanging out with you again! Let's face it, alot of us "grew up and old" together, and I REALLY do enjoy seeing you old friends, chatting, and catching up! Hey, time to give props to regional rockers "Halestorm", from Red Lion, PA.. Liz and Arejay have been banging in clubs and paying "dues" since 1997 when the literally were just kids!! I am proud to say they opened up for my little "blues trio", a few years back, and now they are releasing their 2nd Major label effort call, "The Strange Case Of.." with the Butt-kickin' "Love Bites(so do I) single!! Good things DO come to good people!
It goes withou saying, but y'know I love my metal! And this past Monday a faithful listener called in to let me know that one of my absolute favorite bangers from the 80's, L.A. Guns was coming to, of all places ,Philipsburg on Sunday, April 1st (hope this ain't a Fools Joke!). I've seen Phil Lewis and Company before..but gonna make the trek this weekend to the "Booming Metropolis"..and hopefully get an earful from one of the most underrated bands of that era!! The weather has been incredible..and I am bumming!! Y'see, I wanted to get my bike repainted so Louise (that's her name) would be all "purdy" come riding season. I find a guy who is supposed to do "killer work", make the deal, and take my baby to get painted over the winter months. But, perfection takes time, so right now she is primered and in pieces in a garage in Curryville! . So, here you come, riding along, enjoying the day, and I have a gnawing feeling, and I may even curse under my breath. AARGH! I hate waiting!! Do I have "Cycle Envy"? I believe I do! Ok, so it's obvious I have too much "downtime" in my life, when the other day I was watching a bunch of Chickenfoot videos, and I kept looking at drummer Chad Smith, and thinking "Man! he looks just like Will Ferrell!"..So then, I start thinking.."2 bands, 2 new albums, 2 tours....hey, maybe that is the "Stepbrother Anchorman Ricky Bobbie" filling in. Go watch some of the vids, and tell me I'm crazy!!
It seems like a holiday for a Sports Geek like me, because..PITCHERS & CATCHERS have reported to Spring Training!! Could it finally happen? My beloved Buccos back to the place where they have not been since my youngest (who is now in college)was an infant!! Ah, hope springs eternal! Let's Go Bucs!
So I am all-stoked about the 2nd coming of Diamond Dave with Van Halen..new album, great first single in "Tattoo", and now a tour!! But, KOOL & THE GANG rumoured to be on the bill as an opener??!! C'mon..this rings like Hendrix and the Monkees!!! Say it ain't so!! Who exactly makes these decisions??
