HGR Recap 10/20 - On Location with Harrisburg's StarChild!

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the October 20 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 9 to 11 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).

This week, we went on location to meet up with our guests, Jerry Martin and Sharon Starr of Harrisburg-based rockers StarChild (https://www.facebook.com/StarChildBand); recording the interview at the Goldsboro, PA-based photo studio facility of Meredith Kaminek (www.throughmeredithseyes.com). We learned the StarChild story, and heard songs from the group’s first two CDs! Along the way, introduced new tunes by Clyde Frog and the Good Seeds, dug a 1988 song by Heart Of Darkness from the archive for a “Local Music Flashback,” and reviewed Small Town Titans’ From Fight to Flight CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.”

Here is this week's playlist:

HYBRID ICE – “Bring the Gold”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “Grow”
STARCHILD – “I’m Forever Young”
CLYDE FROG – “Dance Across the Sky”

On our next program, our guest will be State College-based singer, songwriter and frontman for party band My Hero Zero, Jason O! We will find out Jason’s story, hear songs from his In My Bones CD, and learn about a big show he will be opening up in State College soon; and you will have a chance to call in and win tickets to that show! He may also bring a guitar to play a song or two live! Along the way, we will update “Local Music News,” dig a song by a past area band or artist from the archive for a “Local Music Flashback,” and review Pseudo Ano’s Human Spirit CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!”
