Here is the recap of the November 10 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 9 to 11 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
Thanks to this week’s guest, Kent Tonkin, who gave us the lowdown and preview for the third annual Patched Together benefit concert, raising money and awareness of Home Nursing Agency’s Healing Patch program (http://www.homenursingagency.com/our-services/healing-patch, which provides counseling services for young people who have lost loved ones. This year’s benefit happens on Saturday, November 16, at Altoona’s Bavarian Hall. We found out about the benefit, and featured music from several of the bands who will perform at the benefit. Along the way, we introduced new tunes by Post Traumatik, Attracted To Syn (ATS), The Arts and Suburban Lounge Act! We also dug into the archive to pull out a 2001 number from Mission Cricket Invasion for this week’s “Local Music Flashback,” and reviewed JD Eicher & the Goodnights’ Into Place CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.”
