HGR Recap 3/2 - 18th Millennium Music Conference Recap!

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the March 2 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).

This week, we recapped the 18th annual Millennium Music Conference (www.musicconference.net, which took place Feb. 20-22 at the Best Western Premier Central Hotel and Conference Center in Harrisburg. We recapped happenings during the festival, with the spotlight on music from some of the nearly 250 bands and artists who showcased in Harrisburg during Millennium weekend. Along the way, we debuted new songs from The Great Socio, The Romantic Era, Nate Myers, Modern Colour, Nicki Sbaffoni, Worthy Adversary, Blackrue and The Terribles. We frequently stepped “Across State Lines” to hear music from out-of-state Millennium participants such as The Speedbumps, Maggie Anderson (from northern Virginia, winner of the “Homegrown Rocker” dropbox contest; she wins a guest appearance on the March 30 show!), Steve Leak and The Star Darts. And we reviewed a CD from a participating band during the conference, looking at The Semi-Supervillains’ Tricks CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!”
