A DEADLY DIRT BIKE CRASH SATURDAY AFTERNOON IN ON GEIGER ROAD IN FRIEDENS, SOMERSET COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY 22 YEAR OLD AUSTIN CODDINGON OF FRIDENS WAS RIDING ON THE ROAD WHEN HE CROSSED THE CENTER LINE ON A CURVE AND HIT A CAR HEAD ON. 33 YEAR OLD KARRIE SMITH OF SOMERSET WHO WAS DRIVING THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. NO WORD ON HER INJURIES.

A LARGE COW RAN INTO A CAR EARLY SATURDAY MORNING ALONG ROUTE 655 IN CASS TOWNSHIP, HUNTINGDON COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY 52 YEAR OLD DAVID CAMERER OF THREE SPRINGS HIT THE COW, THEN LOST CONTROL OF HIS VEHIELE, STRUCK A CULVERT, AND FLIPPED OVER SEVERAL TIMES. CAMERER SUFFERED MODERATE INJURIES AND WAS TAKEN TO JC BLAIR MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.

STATE POLICE IN SOMERSET COUNTY ARE INVESTIGATING AN ARSON ABOUT 2AM SUNDAY ON THE 400 BLOCK OF WEST MAIN STREET IN SOMERSET BORO. THE BLAZE DESTROYED A HOUSE WITH DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT 20-THOUSAND DOLLARS. FIRE ALSO DAMAGED A HOUSE ON CRAWFORD AVENUE IN NORTHERN CAMBRIA ABOUT 3:15 SUNDAY MORNING. STATE POLICE SAY AN INMATE AT THE STATE PRISON OUTSIDE OF STATE COLLEGE ATACKED A GUARD SATURDAY MORNING AND SENT HIM TO THE HOSPITAL. THE 39 YEAR OLD PRISONER ALLEGEDLY PUNCHED THE CORRECTIONS OFFICER REPEATEDLY IN THE FACE. THE OFFICER WAS TREATED AT THE MOUNT NITTANY MEDICAL CENTER FOR CUTS AND BRUISES.

A PERSON IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS DAVID CROWE IS ADVERTISING PROPERTY RENTALS ONLINE…ASKING PEOPLE TO PAY SEVERAL MONTHS RENT UP FRONT THROUGH THE USE OF A PER-PAID GREEN-DOT DEBIT CARD. POLICE BELIEVE THE SCAMMER IS FROM OUT OF THE COUNTRY…AND THEY ADVISE EVERYONE TO BE AWARD OF ANYONE REQUESTING THE USE OF GREEN-DOT CARDS.
