VICTIM IDENTIFIED

STATE POLICE HAVE NOW RELEASED THE NAME OF THE MOTORCYCLIST WHO DIED IN A CRASH NEAR WILLIAMSBURG SUNDAY AFTERNOON. 44 YEAR OLD RANDY STEWARD AND JAYNETTE STEWARD OF NEW ENTERPRISE WERE BOTH THROWN OFF THEIR BIKE WHEN RANDY LOST CONTROL ALONG ROUTE 22 AND HIT A CAR THAT WAS PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. JAYNETTE WAS FLOWN TO ALTOONA REGIONAL TRAUMA CENTER. NO ONE IN THE CAR WAS INJURED.

MOTHER ARRESTED

AN ELIZABETHTOWN WOMAN SUSPECTED OF ABDUCTING HER 3 CHILDREN IN OHIO IS NOW IN CUSTODY. TATYANA EDWARDS WAS FOUND BY STATE POLICE IN LEWISTOWN AROUND 6PM MONDAY, ABOUT 7 HOURS AFTER SHE AND HER DAUGHTERS WERE SEEN LEAVING CHAGRIN FALLS. POLICE SAY THEY HAD CREDIBLE INFORMATION THAT THE KIDS MAY HAVE BEEN IN DANGER OF PHYSICAL HARM BY THEIR MOTHER, WHO WAS POSSIBLY ARMED. CHILD ABUSE CHARGES ARE PENDING AGAINST EDWARDS. HER FAMILY SAYS THIS IS ALL A MISUNDERSTANDING.

CLASSIC CARS DESTROYED

JOHNSTOWN FIRE CREWS BATTLED A DETACHED GARAGE FIRE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON ALONG THE 21-HUNDRED BLOCK OF BEDFORD STREET NEAR GEISTOWN. THE OWNER SAYS THE GARAGE CONTAINED NUMEROUS VEHICLES INCLUDING A 65 MUSTANG, A 1970 CHALLENGER, AND 2 MOTORCYCLES.
THE INTENSE HEAT MELTED THE SIDING OF ADJACENT BUILDINGS, BUT NO ONE WAS INJURED. A STATE FIRE MARSHAL IS INVESTIGATING.

SUSPENDED TEACHER DUE IN COURT

SUSPENDED HARMONY SCHOOL DISTRICT MUSIC TEACHER SHANE PUTOREK IS DUE AT A PRELIMINARY HEARING TODAY. PATTON BORO POLICE SAY THE 27 YEAR OLD PUTOREK RAPED A 15-YEAR-OLD BOY MAY 8TH WHEN THE TEEN SPENT THE NIGHT AT HIS APARTMENT. PUTOREK…WHO IS FREE ON BOND…IS ALSO ACCUSED OF SLIPPING A CELLPHONE UNDER THE BATHROOM DOOR AND TRYING TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE BOY AS HE SHOWERED. THE TEACHER CLAIMS HE WAS MOLESTED BY A COUSIN WHEN HE WAS 6 YEARS OLD.

FLASHER GOES ON TRIAL

TESTIMONY IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN TODAY IN CENTRE COUNTY COURT FOR THE TRIAL OF AN ACCUSED SERIAL FLASHER.34 YEAR OLD RYAN HO ALLEGEDLY EXPOSED HIMSELF TO WOMEN IN 19 SEPARATE INCIDENTS. HE WAS ARRESTED LAST MAY AFTER HE PRIED OPEN THE WINDOW OF A PATTON TOWNSHIP APARTMENT AND ASSAULTED A WOMAN IN HER BEDROOM.

HEARING FOR ACCUSED METH MAKER

TODAY IN CAMBRIA COUNTY, A PRELIMINARY HEARING IS SCHEDULED FOR 39 YEAR OLD BRADLEY KOLLAR OF HASTINGS WHO IS ACCUSED OF OPERATING A CHOP-SHOP AND HAVING MATERIALS THAT COULD BE USED FOR A METH LAB. AUTHORITIES RAIDED AN ABANDONED MINE SITE BACK IN MARCH. KOLLAR’S FATHER, 63 YEAR OLD JOHN, IS CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE FELONIES AS WELL.

UNEMPLOYED VETERANS

PENNSYLVANIA’S VETERANS UNEMPLOYMENT RATE CURRENTLY STANDS AT 7-POINT-3 PERCENT AND SENATOR BOB CASEY IS PUSHING A LEGISLATIVE RESPONSE. CASEY IS RE-INTRODUCING THE “SERVICEMEMBERS ACCESS TO JUSTICE ACT” WHICH WOULD BAN EMPLOYERS FROM FORCING SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN TO GIVE UP THEIR JOBS IF THEY ARE CALLED TO ACTIVE DUTY. CASEY SAYS THERE ARE 12 COUNTIES IN THE STATE, INCLUDING BLAIR AND CLEARFIELD, WHICH HAVE DOUBLE DIGIT VETERAN UNEMPLOYMENT.

POWER STILL OUT?

AT LEAST 400 PENELEC CUSTOMERS IN NORTHERN BLAIR COUNTY REMAINED WITHOUT POWER YESTERDAY FOLLOWING THE NASTY WEEKEND THUNDERSTORMS. SPOKESWOMAN BEVERLY GREEN SAYS MOST OF THOSE AFFECTED ARE IN THE BELLWOOD, TIPTON, AND TYRONE AREAS AND CREWS HOPE TO HAVE EVERYONE BACK IN BUSINESS TODAY. PENELEC HAS BROUGHT IN WORKERS FROM OHIO AND OTHER AREAS TO HELP WITH REPAIRS.
