ANOTHER CEMETERY VANDALIZED

IN CENTRE COUNTY, FERGUSON TOWNSHIP POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING VANDALISM AT PINE HALL CEMETERY ON WEST COLLEGE AVENUE OVERNIGHT MONDAY. 15 HEADSTONES WERE KNOCKED OVER OR DAMAGED IN THE REAR SECTION OF THE CEMETERY. AUTHORITIES ARE WORKING WITH STATE COLLEGE POLICE TO DETERMINE IF THIS CASE IS RELATED TO THE RECENT VANDALISM AT BOALSBURG CEMETERY. IF YOU HAVE INFORMATION, CALL POLICE AT 237-11-72.

NO WEAPONS BROUGHT TO MIDDLE SCHOOL

JOHNSTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT GERALD ZAHORCHAK SAYS RUMORS WERE CIRCULATING TUESDAY, BUT NO WEAPONS WERE BROUGHT TO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL. 2 STUDENTS HAD REPORTEDLY BEEN FEUDING AND IT TURNED INTO A FIGHT. ZAHORCHAK TELLS WJAC THAT NO ALERT WAS ISSUED TO PARENTS BECAUSE THERE WAS NEVER A SPECIFIC THREAT OF WEAPONS. OFFICIALS FROM THE MIDDLE SCHOOL SAY THREATS OR RUMORS, SUCH AS THESE, ARE TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY AND THEY ARE INVESTIGATED EXTENSIVELY.

MAN ATTACKED WITH BAT IN ALTOONA

ALTOONA POLICE TELL THE ALTOONA MIRROR 38 YEAR OLD MARK DOUCETTE AND 19 YEAR OLD MATTHEW KELLER OF ALTOONA ARE FACING FELONY ASSAULT CHARGES AFTER THEY BEAT A MAN AT PROSPECT PARK SATURDAY NIGHT. THEY…ALONG WITH DOUCETTE’S SON AND ANOTHER MAN…ALLEGEDLY JUMPED THE FENCE AND ATTACKED THE VICTIM WHO WAS PLAYING BASKETBALL. HE WAS HIT MULTIPLE TIMES WITH A BASEBALL BAT AND ALSO A PIECE OF WOOD. KELLER CONFESSED THAT THE ATTACK WAS RETRIBUTION FOR AN ATTACK ON HIM BY THE VICTIM A WEEK EARLIER. DOUCETTE POSTED BAIL, WHILE KELLER IS IN THE BLAIR COUNTY PRISON. PRELIMINARY HEARINGS ARE SCHEDULED JUNE 4TH.
