Rocky 104.9/99 "Homegrown Rocker" recap 5/6/12

Hello Everyone, 

Here is the recap of the May 6 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com). 

Thanks to our guest this week, Dan Klock of Mysterytrain, spotlighting his solo acoustic endeavor, Raggedy Hobo! Dan told us the story behind Raggedy Hobo and explained why he resurrected the project after shelving it for several years. We heard some live Raggedy Hobo footage, as well as two new live Mysterytrain tunes! Along the way, we updated “Local Music News,” dug a 1999 song by Johnstown native Beth Staley from the archive for a “Local Music Flashback,” and reviewed Emmett and Mary’s S/T CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.”

Here is the recap of the April 15 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com). 

Thanks to our guests, Jonestown-based rockers Shift Seven (www.shiftseven.com), for joining us via phone this week! We met the band members and learned their story, and heard insights about their music as we played tunes from Shift Seven’s latest CD, Love Lust. Along the way, we updated “Local Music News,” dug a 1993 song by State College’s Soul Gypsys from the archive for a “Local Music Flashback,” and reviewed Borrowed Time’s This Old Dirt Road CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.”
